Beecher Fannin

Beecher Fannin, 91, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010.

He was born in Elliot County, Kentucky and retired from Mohawk Tire and Rubber Company as Plant Manager. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving in the Pacific with the 37th Division during World War II where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of the D.A.V. and the Mohawk Retirees Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Amanda (Adkins) Fannin; five brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Audrey; son, Philip (Sandra); daughters, Mary (Robert) Hiley and Sue Ellen Morris (Richard Austin); sisters, Betty Jo Mault, Ann McCoy and Jane Fannin; grandchildren, Philip, Jr. (Angela) and Erin Fannin, Jennifer (Aidan) Kilker, Molly Anne Hiley (James Halicki), Scott (Charlotte) and Benjamin (Robin) Morris and Amanda (Michael) Duda; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. (Please note new address) in Akron. Rev. Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. (Anthony Funeral Homes, 330-724-1281, www.anthonyfh.com)

Dear Audrey-Betty Jo-Ann, Jane and Children: God Bless you one and all. You have our love and affection We have lost a very dear relative and friend I always enjoyed visiting with Beecher and sharing our relationships.. He was a good man who did his job when called upon to do so. He like so many others in his age group saved the free world. God Bless them I always considered my association with your family a privilage and honor and one that I dearly respected. So many times through the years I think of Harry , Mandy, and Valley Street The Hoover Strawberries-The Hair Cuts-The bad times as well as the good.
