Ronald W. Younkin, 74, went home to be with his savior on July 4, 2010.
Born in Akron on April 5, 1936 to the late W.C. & Anna Younkin, Ron had been a lifetime Akron resident. He was a retired tire builder for General Tire and was a member of the LifeSpring Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife Alice, brother Clarence, and sister Dorothy. He is survived by his children Stephan (Ami) Younkin, Gretchan (Philip) Mitchell, and Laura Schmader; brother Everett (Pauline) and sisters Evelyn, Marilyn, and Becky; Brothers-in-law Tim (Marcy) and Tommy (Debbie) and sister-in-law Nancy (Jon); special friend and companion Pattie Jones; grandchildren Jessica, Robert Jr., Stephen, Zach, Brooke, Alex, and Bret and great-granddaughter Lillie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11:00 am at the LifeSpring Christian Church 1828 Marigold Ave. in Akron. Interment will take place at Greensburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

I would like to express my condolences to Ron's family. I haven't seen him for many years but have sent greetings through family members. I remember him especially for his ready smile. He always had a warm smile for everyone. God bless him.
